The 18th annual Midwest Undergraduate Mathematics Symposium will be held April 9, 2022, at Simpson College in Indianola. This year the plenary talks will be given by Nancy Mwirotsi of Pi515 and Jeremy Ward from the Air Force Research Laboratory.
The organizers note: We hope to host MUMS 2022 as an in-person conference, but depending on covid rates that may not be possible. We expect to make a decision on March 10 as to whether MUMS 2022 will take place virtually or in-person.
Undergraduate students are invited to present 10—15 minute talks or posters from any area of mathematics. Possible topics for presentations include, but are not limited to, results of class projects, solutions to contest problems (Putnam Exam, modeling competitions, etc.), results from undergraduate research projects (including results from REUs), expository talks on interesting topics in mathematics, papers on the history of mathematics, mathematics education projects, and other independent work in mathematics, statistics, or computer science. The deadline for submitting abstracts is Friday, March 25, 2022. This is also the deadline for registration.
